Read to Children
Ever wonder what to say to a young child who can't answer you with words? Read a book. Even the youngest child loves the sound of voices. If you already read to your baby, toddler, or pre-schooler every day . . . BRAVO! Reading books to little ones at an early age is important. Reading children's stories out loud is one of the best activities an adult can do with a child. Why read to a child? 1. Reading to children helps the brain grow 2. Children who are read to are better able to learn to read themselves 3. Reading with a child is a simple way to establish a strong bond
Play with Children
Play is children's work, but play can be any activity that is fun. Children work hard at their play because they can make it up themselves. The best part about children's play is that it helps children learn while they have fun. Children benefit most from a balance of adult-led activities and activities that they think of themselves.
Speak to Children
Even before they can say words, children can communicate. Infants communicate what they need by crying; at about 18 months children experience a vocabulary explosion; and during ages 2 and 3, children produce understandable speech. Children move from understanding language to using sounds and words to communicate. Children learn language by being with people who encourage their efforts to communicate and look for opportunities to communicate with them. By age 4, a child probably knows 5,600 words.

Classes Creative Crawlers
Dancing Dynamos/Early Einsteins
7 - 13 monthsAs the babies gain hand, arm and trunk control and become mobile we introduce new and stimulating activities. Baby and parents are led through a variety of beginning stretches, exercises, infant songs and dances, baby-safe rides and adventures, as well as balance and agility skills during this 45-minute program.
24 - 48 monthsThe gross motor abilities of 2-year-olds are often characterized by more confident running, jumping on two feet, and an overall improved awareness of their bodies. At this age we work on fine and gross manipulatives in a structured format that parallels the growing attention span of 2 to 4 year-olds. During this 1-hour program, they sing, dance, play games, watch puppet shows, and work on basic tumbling skills. the development of social skills is also emphasized, as the youngsters become good listeners, follow directions, cooperate in a group, and learn more about themselves.
Busy Bees
14 - 22 monthsAt this age, a child’s level of independent mobility will typically progress from aggressive crawling to running. Additional fine and gross motor skills developed during this stage include kicking a ball, building a block tower, riding a tricycle, and walking up stairs. Early social skills will be developed through interactive songs, choreographed dances, age-specific puppet shows, and other original activities. This stimulating 1-hour program introduces balancing, tumbling, and agility skills.
Preschoolers
4 - 5 yearsIn this age group, teaching physical and school readiness skills is a top priority. Teachers read children's books that explore and nurture key social and emotional skills, engage in activities that require cooperation and self-awareness, and encourage communication with peers. This school skills class includes both independent and group learning activities to promote the important personal and social skills your preschool child will need for a successful transition into school.
